LOTTERY DEFINED...
According to Section 57 of the National Lottery Act (2005) - "lottery" or "lotteries" includes any game, scheme, agreement, system, plan, promotional competition or device for the distribution of prizes by lot or chance, or as a result of the exercise of skill and chance or based on the outcome or sporting events, or any other game, scheme, agreement, system, plan, competition or device, which the President may by notice in the Gazette declare to be lottery and which shall be operated according to a licence.

DG LOTTERY COMMISSION WARNS PUBLIC AGAINST PARTICIPATING IN ILLEGAL LOTTERIES
As the year draws to an end, the Director General, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Mr. Adolphus Joe Ekpe has renewed his call on Nigerians to shun participation in all forms of illegal lotteries.
The need to renew this call stems from the increased economic activities associated with most sectors towards end of the year, with the lottery sector being one of the most active.

IT IS YEAR ANOTHER YEAR END 2016
It is yet another end of year. The year 2016 is gradually rolling over to give way to year 2017. In times like this, there is need for retrospection and introspection.
I feel humbled to lead this Commission, The National Lottery Regulatory Commission in these years passed, and to have achieved the much we have within this period. Any and all of our modest achievements could not have been possible if not of the grace of God and the support of amiable and selfless staff of the Commission.
